IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING THE EAAB FROM THE DESK OF THE NATIONAL PRESIDENT
The President of IEASA, Johalna Minnaar was in attendance at the meeting yesterday where the minister of Human Settlements announced that the members of the EAA board has been dissolved, and that the EAAB as a business has been placed under administration.
This is a welcomed announcement and seen as a positive move towards bringing stability, efficiency and transparency to the EAAB, its functions and mandate.
Cognisance needs to be taken that the EAAB is open and it is “business as usual”. That means that applications for FFC’s and PDE exams are going ahead while the Audits, FIC, Debt Collector Council, Property Charter, Property Transformation Charter and the Property Transformation Act are still very much applicable and remain in place.
The real estate industry stakeholders will be addressed by the minister at a summit to be held in September 2012.
We await further information which will then be conveyed to our IEASA members. In the interim rest assured that IEASA will on hand to engage with the minister to assist in a speedy resolution for the betterment of the industry.
Kind regards,
Johalna Minnaar
President – IEASA National
