REGARDING IEASA MEMBERS AND FUTURE MEMBERSHIP
Notwithstanding that over the past year or so a lot of effort has been made towards the transformation of IEASA in terms of the Labour Act to create a Labour organisation, which is going well, and an Employer organisation, which has to a large extent not been successful.
A number of attempts have been made over the years to form new structures, the most recent being REBOSA, for estate agent employers. The board mandated certain individuals with responsibilities to establish REBOSA from within the IEASA principals structures. However the mandate was not followed and crucial elements such as transformation, co-operation and unity were not key in the execution thereof.
As a consequence at the latest meeting of the IEASA National board it was decided to withdraw our support for those initiatives and to revisit a structure taking into account the national imperative of a transformed Real Estate Industry and in particular amongst Principals, mindful of the need for mentorship, training and job creation. This then lead to the decision to go a different and new path for a Principals’ Organisation encapsulating the transforming world of Real Estate and emerging markets within this realm.
We are now able to advise our Principal members, as has previously been stated, to maintain their membership with IEASA and pay their fees as per normal and migration will take place in due course as and when required.
The IEASA Regional branches have been advised accordingly. Should you have any questions please liaise with your IEASA regional chairman (Contacts here).
You may also communicate via email to Kate Colsell at IEASA National firstname.lastname@example.org who will assist as far as possible or forward your emails on.
